The light armored vehicle was launched in 2002 with four units equipped with steel plate armor and high mobility. Utilizing the small body, it can respond quickly to various situations, and it is used mainly by the Ground Self Defense Force’s general department and also by the armored department reconnaissance unit. Based on the lessons learned, vehicles for domestic use have been improved since 2005, including the addition of fuel cans and brackets for spare tires at the rear of the vehicle.
